Louis Berger has won a new project in Cameroon (PM211)
Louis Berger has been selected to provide Program Management Services to the Ministry of Education in Cameroon, in the framework of a school construction program.
Louis Berger will assist the Client in the coordination, management, technical support and procurement of the works contracts.
This includes: preliminary design, preparation of tender documents, assistance during the procurement process (for works contracts), then construction supervision.
Louis Berger has won a new project in Democratic Republic of Congo (PM212)
Louis Berger has been commissioned to provide Technical Assistance Services to the DRC Road Authority, in the framework of the High Priority Roads Program.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacities of the Road Authority for all tasks related to the management, the planning, the organization and the program management of road works.
Louis Berger has won a new project in Congo (PS377)
Louis Berger has been selected to provide Technical Assistance Services to the Project for Trade and Entrepreneurial Capacities Strengthening, which general objective is to improve the competitiveness of the Congolese economy.
At the national level, the project aims to ensure the implementation of development programs.
At the regional and international levels, this project aims at allowing the Congolese economy to be more competitive and strong enough to face the global issues of the globalized world economy.
Louis Berger has won a new project in Ukraine (PT899)
Louis Berger has been selected to provide services for the urban transport regulatory improvement of Lviv public transport.
The objective of the assignment is to provide support to the City Transport Department to develop a sound and robust regulatory approach to the areas of public transport route structuring, competitive route tendering for services with the private sector, public service contracting (“PSC”), introduction of electronic ticketing, and parking management.
Louis Berger has won a new project in France (PN548)
Louis Berger has been selected to provide program management for the preliminary studies of the multimodal trade center urban project (Matabiau-Marengo-Raynal-Periole).
The railway station Toulouse-Matabiau is concerned by two operations of new high-speed lines of the « Grenelle de l’Environnement » planning law : Bordeaux-Toulouse and Toulouse-Narbonne. The connection of this station to the high-speed railway network, in an existing station in central town area, implies a reconsideration of the city territory at the local, regional, national and European levels.
The Program Management assignment carried out by Louis Berger must support the Urban Council of Grand Toulouse in the design, implementation and monitoring of the preliminary studies of the multimodal trade center urban project.
Louis Berger won a new project in Western Africa (PM216)
Louis Berger has been selected to carry out the construction supervision of 2 joint border posts, one in Paga (Burkina / Ghana border), and the other in Malaville (Niger / Benin border).
The border posts include an administrative building, some inspections infrastructures and parking and access roads infrastructures.
Louis Berger won a new project in France (PN551)
Louis Berger has been selected to provide Program Management for the redevelopment of the Pôle Gares – Vieille Ile neighborhood in Haguenau.
Haguenau City, and in particular this neighborhood, is to become a more and more important peak area, due to the development of the railway traffic and the improvement of the service (Strasbourg – Haguenau – North of Alsace network) and to the modifications and projects in the urban area.
The mission carried out by Louis Berger consists in the project management and transport and urban programming studies. Another mission concerns the coordination of the studies from the counterparts of the projects and the implementation of project management tools.
Close out of the Emergency Multisectoral Project for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PMURR)
On November 17, 2010 a seminar to close out the PMURR was held in Kinshasa, DRC. The project was initiated by the World Bank at the end of the troubled times through which DRC went in the 90’s and was aimed at rehabilitating a number of infrastructures critical to revitalizing the country’s economic activity. Given the assessment made by the World Bank on the operations of the country’s institutions, it was agreed to delegate Procurement and Project Control of Component A under the program to a private operator. Louis Berger was selected to ensure this function and operated under the name of the Central Office for Infrastructure Contracts (BCMI) from mid-2003 to mid-2010, i.e. seven (7) years. As the entity in charge of procurement and project control, Louis Berger conducted, on behalf of DRC, the rehabilitation of National Highways 1 and 7, the ports of Matadi, Boma, and Mbandaka, the preliminary rehabilitation of the Power Plant of Inga and six (plants) in the major inland towns, the rehabilitation of the waste water plant of Kinshasa and the expansion of its capacity to 320,000m3/day as well as a number of actions in the areas of urban development and transport.
More than 200 service, supply, and works contracts were awarded and were conducted up to final acceptance for a total amount of more than USD 500 million (Transport USD 256 million; Energy USD 89 million; Water supply USD 80 million; Urban infrastructures USD 24 million; miscellaneous USD 50 million +).
As part of the assignment, Louis Berger trained the counterpart staff assigned to BCMI as well as some executives from the traditional implementing agencies.
Louis Berger has won two new projects in Central Africa (PM234 and PM243)
The consortia led by Louis Berger have won two projects of works supervision on the National Highway 9, on both sides of the border Congo-Cameroon. The works specifically concern the road Ketta-Biessi-Cameroun border (311 km), in Congo, and on the road Djoum-Mintom-Congo Border (200 km), in Cameroun.
Under both projects, the consortia led by Louis Berger are in charge of the supervision of the paving works and of the implementation of minor improvements works, including the related facilities. The main services are as follows: definition of the work in progress, managing the execution of works contracts, quality control, scheduling, construction monitoring and coordination and support of reception operations.
Louis Berger has won a new project in Benin (PM240)
Louis Berger is part of a consortium that has been selected to provide a technical assistance to the Ministry of Justice, Legislation and Human Rights under the project to support the reform of Justice.
The project aims to contribute to the consolidation of the rule of law in Benin and especially to support the updating of the reform of the legal and judicial systems strategy and strengthen the institutional and administrative capacities of the Ministry.
The technical assistance provided by the consortium has three main components: the rationalization of the working and management methods of the Ministry, the computerization of the justice sector and the capacity building for planning and implementation through a sectoral approach.
