Lao Cai-Cam Duong urban development project

The urban development plan of Lao Cai - Cam Duong schedules the merging of the two cities in a 200,000 inhabitants metropolitan area, three times the present population. The French Development Agency was contacted to finance the project Phase 1-Infrastructures including the general eartworks and leveling, the roads and streets, the water supply, drainage and sanitation systems for an estimated amount of US $25 million. The present study aims to give some more details and to justify the project to be presented to the AFD Supervisory Board to agree the financing.
